We visited Palmer Park last weekend. It is a great huge park in the middle of the city. Yes, this is the middle of the city!

Finally the weather warmed up enough to put the playground together. Ethan was very excited.

Well, Today was our First MOPS group meeting (M0thers Of Pre-Schoolers) After a little bit of opposition from Ethan this morning we ventured out in the Cold weather to go be social.
Ellie did pretty well, After they switched her to a more age appropriate group (she was at first with 18 months olds). And Ethan, after shedding a few tears (me too), got better and ended up having fun. He just told me that he would like to go again (victory!)
I am so glad to finally have met some other women and the kids have met some other kids. We may be going to a play group next week at one of the other MOPs houses'. I think my tiny bit of cabin fever is subsiding.

Ellie was so happy at Ruby's Diner.. She got to have a biscuit and a pancake.
The Air Force Academy Chapel was pretty awesome. It started snowing on us ... right as we were leaving.
Ellie likes sitting with Ethan at the little table now.

We got our stuff!

Ellie woke up from her nap and found Ethan Jammin( in jammies) on his drums... She came and joined in and then got distracted by the piggy bank in the window. Ethan wasn't distracted at all... he didn't miss a beat.

Mimi and Pappa have come to visit... Yahoo... They have been such a great help to us. Our stuff finally got here on Tuesday and we've been busy unpacking and getting things set up. After a bit of cabin fever we went for a walk this afternoon to get some fresh air. It was a beautiful crisp day. Here, you can see Pikes Peak right behind Mimi and Pappa.

Ellie is quite taken with her Pappa... as he is with her...

Camping in our new home-Still waiting on furniture to arrive

Well, painting gets old... so Saturday we decided to venture out and check out some of this beautiful creation that we live amongst. We drove up the road just a bit to Woodland Park -about 30 mins away. It, as you can see it is so beautiful. Richard and I just can't believe we actually live so near this. Blessed are we!Cripple Creek... Old mining town turned into casinos and hotels and shops...

"Garden of the Gods" This is a beautiful park right here in Colorado Springs. The Red cliffs are amazing. Great Hiking and horse back riding.
Ethan loved getting to help daddy shovel after the early morning snow. The weather changes so quickly here. 30 minutes later the sky was grey and snowy again... We sludged our way to church. Richard and I really enjoy the sermon and P& W.. But the kids both cried while in the nursery. Hopefully by next week they will be ready to try again. In two weeks I hope to join a MOPS group here in town. I hope they do well there.

Arrived in Colorado Springs

We made it to Co. Wed Dec 26th and stayed with Aunt Linda and Uncle Johnny in their beautiful Mountain home in Manitou Springs until monday Dec 31st when we closed on our home. We are essentially camping out until our home goods arrive ... hopefully on Tuesday, Jan 8th.
We moved in our but are still camping out until our stuff arrives from DC.
Ethan likes his new blue room. R and I have been painting late at night while the kids sleep. Below, Ethan did get to help some with Ellie's room. He is very proud of his work. Her room is now Pink and Green. I'll get more pics when we are all moved in.
